L3Harris Advances US Navy Next Generation Jammer Low Band Program with $876 Million Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 19, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has secured an undefinitized contract modification award from the U.S. Navy, valued at $876,440,942, for the next engineering and manufacturing phase of the Next Generation Jammer Low Band program (NGJ-LB). This initiative aims to expedite the delivery of crucial capabilities to the warfighter, in alignment with the Department of War’s priorities.

The NGJ-LB is set to enhance the Navy’s operational efficiency by integrating advanced jamming capabilities designed to disrupt and degrade enemy radar and communications. L3Harris’ modular, open-system architecture is expected to facilitate maintenance and enable seamless improvements. Additionally, the NGJ-LB will operate alongside joint and allied forces, allowing for future technology integration.

This contract builds on L3Harris’ ongoing support for the Navy’s airborne electronic attack (AEA) mission, including the use of the AN/ALQ-99 Tactical Jamming System, which is integral to fleet operations. Collectively, these initiatives exemplify a dedication to maintaining current mission capabilities while ushering in next-generation advancements.

“This program enhances the ability to counter adversaries operating in lower-frequency bands,” remarked Chris Aebli, President of Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris. “We’re moving swiftly to provide a system that empowers aviators to address these threats from greater and safer distances.”

Senator John Curtis, R-Utah, emphasized the significance of this investment for Utah’s role in fortifying U.S. national defenses. He stated, “L3Harris and its skilled workforce are developing advanced capabilities that will aid our Navy in staying ahead of evolving threats and ensuring the safety of our service members. I take pride in the vital work being conducted here in Utah that bolsters our national security for years to come.”

Senator Mike Lee, R-Utah, also recognized Utah’s leadership in advancing technology for national defense: “Utah continues to pave the way in cutting-edge technology to protect our nation and the courageous individuals serving in our armed forces. I congratulate the many Utahns contributing to the NGJ-LB program in Salt Lake City and eagerly anticipate new developments in national defense right here at home.”

Representative Celeste Maloy, R-Utah, affirmed the commitment to supporting national defense in Utah, stating, “The work being done at L3Harris is a vital part of our defense priorities. This award will empower Utah workers to equip our Navy with the tools necessary to stay ahead of emerging threats.”

As part of this contract, L3Harris will deliver non-recurring tooling and equipment, along with necessary labor for the development phase. Additionally, the company will provide system demonstration test article pods, bolster cybersecurity and system security development, and offer product, logistics, test and evaluation, and software support to the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command. Testing will continue to align with the Navy’s delivery schedule.
