KONGSBERG’s Quad DR 100 system demonstrated impressive rapid deployment capabilities during the recent Interpol CUAS Test, as noted by Stefan Blom Hansen, Product Manager for the DR 100. “The speed of deployment reflects the system’s inherent mobility. DR 100 is designed with on-the-move capability, meaning we can detect, track and classify targets while operating from a moving platform. We are not limited to fixed positions,” he explained.
The exercise specifically focused on detecting, tracking, and classifying airborne objects. Unlike many traditional systems that filter out low-altitude targets, the DR 100 excels in reliably identifying low-flying drones, which often elude conventional radar solutions. Furthermore, the system classifies vehicles and personnel, thereby enhancing overall situational awareness.
Although the exercise did not assess kinetic and non-kinetic effectors, the DR 100 is already being integrated into broader Counter-UAS ecosystems. Collaborations with leading system integrators ensure that the DR 100 is accessible across the market, supporting various response solutions such as small-caliber weapon systems, interceptor drones, RF jammers, and short-range missile options.
The recent exercise at Gardermoen was crucial for showcasing the DR 100’s capabilities within a civilian context. Cato Giil Eliassen, VP of Business Development at KONGSBERG, stated, “As drone activity around critical infrastructure continues to increase, airports represent an important and growing use case. The DR 100 combines rapid deployment, high detection performance, and operational flexibility, making it a powerful tool for protecting airspace where uninterrupted operations are essential.”
KONGSBERG’s participation at Gardermoen underscores its commitment to advancing sensor solutions that enhance situational awareness, expedite decision-making, and effectively safeguard critical infrastructure.
