The F-16 aircraft is widely recognized for its multirole capabilities, bolstering Peru’s air sovereignty and contributing to regional security. The Block 70 variant stands out as the most advanced F-16 available, offering a long service life, cost-effective lifecycle management, and robust global support. With state-of-the-art technology, radar, and weapons systems, this fighter provides pilots with enhanced awareness and security, crucial for mission success and safe returns.

Mike Shoemaker, Vice President of the Integrated Fighter Group at Lockheed Martin, remarked, “Peru’s decision to select the F-16 highlights the aircraft’s unparalleled operational performance and combat history, effectively addressing vital defense needs. We are honored that this advanced F-16 will play a key role in safeguarding Peru’s national sovereignty while reinforcing our strong partnership.”

This acquisition is a significant milestone in transforming the Peruvian Air Force’s fighter fleet and signifies a deepening strategic alliance with the United States, presenting vast opportunities for industrial collaboration.

“The collaboration between U.S. and allied defense industries has always generated security benefits and economic advantages,” added Shoemaker. “The F-16 Block 70 program will further enhance these ties, promoting economic growth for all involved parties.”
