“Naval Group and EDGE Forge Alliance for Innovative Rampart Firing Trials”
On June 16, 2026, a significant milestone was achieved with the agreement between Naval Group and HALCON, the smart weapons producer under EDGE Group. This collaboration focuses on firing trials of HALCON’s SKYKNIGHT air defense missile utilizing Naval Group’s advanced Rampart system. This partnership signals the beginning of a fruitful exchange aimed at seamlessly integrating the missile into the defense framework.
This agreement will enable a comprehensive firing trials campaign set to take place in the UAE from 2026 through 2027. The initiative includes two phases: the first executed on land, followed by a second phase at sea. Naval Group will leverage its expertise in weapon integration and launching systems, while HALCON will utilize its proficiency in creating precision-guided weapons and ammunition modules.
The SKYKNIGHT air defense missile, developed by HALCON, is specifically engineered to combat a diverse range of contemporary threats. It offers superior protection for both static and mobile assets, showcasing exceptional surface-to-air intercept capabilities. The missile effectively targets rotary-wing aircraft, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as rockets, artillery, mortars, and various fixed-wing aircraft within a range of up to 10 km.
