Saab launches Allied Mission System for operations in space
Saab has introduced the Allied Mission System (AMS), designed for ongoing development to enhance operational efficiency in space. The AMS integrates data from a variety of sensors and third-party assets, performing automated analyses to provide actionable insights and support decision-making. This system facilitates command and control capabilities, allowing operators to effectively coordinate assets, task systems, and manage missions, while also paving the way for future integration with extensive multi-domain operational ecosystems.
The modular architecture of AMS enables data services, mission services, and applications to develop independently, fostering rapid integration of emerging technologies to address evolving threats.
Produced in Australia for global deployment, the AMS will be available as Software as a Service (SaaS), allowing customers to customize and expand capabilities based on their operational needs.
“Almost everything we do relies on space in some way, and we have designed our new AMS platform to give the user the capability to act in this highly congested and contested domain. This innovative and purpose-driven technology leverages Saab’s extensive experience in delivering trusted multi-domain command and control systems and exemplifies our commitment to ongoing sovereign capability development,” said Andy Keough, Managing Director of Saab Australia.
According to Chris Picton MP, South Australian Minister for Defence and Space Industries, “South Australia is the home of the nation’s space industry, and Saab’s AMS demonstrates the advanced technologies being developed right here in SA. As space becomes an increasingly important domain for national security, South Australian companies like Saab are developing the sovereign capabilities Australia needs while creating high-skilled jobs and strengthening our defence industry.”
By bringing together data, analysis, and mission management into a unified open architecture platform, the AMS equips customers with the adaptability to meet evolving operational challenges in the space domain.
Saab stands out as a leading provider of surveillance and command and control solutions for armed forces globally across land, sea, and air domains.
