Airbus to acquire INFODAS and strengthen its cybersecurity portfolio

Munich, 25 March 2024 – Airbus Defence and Space has announced its agreement to acquire INFODAS, a cybersecurity and IT solutions provider based in Cologne, Germany, specializing in the public sector, including defence and critical infrastructure systems. The agreement remains subject to standard regulatory approvals and is anticipated to conclude by the end of 2024.

This strategic acquisition aligns with Airbus’ commitment to enhance its cybersecurity portfolio, aimed at bolstering support for its European and global client base. In light of escalating cyber threats and the growing digitalization and interconnectivity of its offerings, cybersecurity continues to be a central focus for Airbus’ ongoing development efforts. Over recent years, the company has made significant strides in enhancing its cybersecurity skills and capabilities, safeguarding its products, operations, clientele, and the broader ecosystem—particularly in key initiatives like the Future Combat Air System (FCAS).

With approximately 250 employees and annual revenues of about 50 million euros, INFODAS operates not only in Cologne but also maintains offices across Germany, including Berlin, Bonn, Hamburg, Munich, and Mainz. The company has earned certification from the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) as an IT security service provider, excelling in areas such as information system auditing, consulting, and penetration testing. Notably, INFODAS’ SDoT Security Gateway product family is approved for use at classification levels up to secret and meets Common Criteria certification, alongside other country-specific standards.
