Unveiling SYNAPSIS: Cutting-Edge Technology for the Next-Gen Versatile Vessel

Cutting-edge Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems (INBS) onboard revolutionary vessels

Anschütz has secured the contract to deliver advanced Integrated Navigation and Bridge Systems (INBS) for three state-of-the-art multipurpose vessels under construction for the German Waterways and Shipping Administration (WSV) at the renowned Abeking & Rasmussen shipyard. The first vessel, the Scharhörn, has successfully passed a series of rigorous sea trials and is approaching its delivery phase.

Anschütz equips these innovative ships with the latest SYNAPSIS INBS technology. This sophisticated system guarantees a high degree of integration and automation, providing crew members with accurate and clear insights into the maritime environment, thus enhancing safe navigation, maneuvering, and overall vessel operation.

“Our SYNAPSIS is a highly efficient and standardized integrated navigation system that can be tailored to fit specific customer needs. Its modular architecture guarantees seamless and secure integration, allowing for perfect adaptation to the diverse operations these vessels will undertake,” remarked Philip Kankelfitz, Head of Commercial Sales at Anschütz. “We are excited to be part of this groundbreaking project and are confident that SYNAPSIS will surpass performance expectations in terms of reliability and functionality.”

This complete delivery includes six SYNAPSIS NX multifunctional workstations, an ultra-precise autopilot system, and a comprehensive suite of navigation sensors. Additionally, it features a dynamic positioning system equipped with a motion sensor that offers roll and pitch data on the control display. An innovative oil spill detection system is integrated with radar through the CAT240 Asterix interface, alongside compatibility with sonar systems. Collectively, these advanced capabilities ensure unbeatable navigation accuracy and safe ship handling. An extra ECDIS is also provided for planning purposes.

The high-performance bridge equipment provided meets the stringent operational requirements for a variety of tasks. These vessels are engineered to execute an extensive array of missions, including sea mark maintenance, water policing, pollution control, firefighting, emergency response, and hydroacoustic equipment deployment.
