Strategic Alliance between DroneShield and Terma to Enhance Integrated Counter-UAS Solutions

DroneShield, a leader in counter-drone technology, has partnered with Terma, a prominent defense and aerospace firm, to sign a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). This collaboration aims to enhance layered counter-UAS capabilities through a shared commitment to integrating mission-ready technologies. Together, they offer advanced AI-driven UAS detection, state-of-the-art electronic warfare systems, and sophisticated command-and-control software.

This MOU creates a robust framework for validating and operationalizing complementary counter-UAS capabilities, promoting coordinated market engagement between DroneShield and Terma. Their partnership enables businesses worldwide—including regions like Denmark, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific—to fortify their existing air defense systems as global threat landscapes evolve.

The agreement underscores the rising demand for comprehensive layered counter-UAS solutions. These solutions grant operators the freedom to choose the most appropriate sensing technologies tailored to specific environments and threat profiles. Enhanced situational awareness and increased precision in UxS detection and classification, driven by mature AI-enabled sensor fusion, are vital for ensuring timely and effective operational responses.

Louis Gamarra, Chief Commercial Officer at DroneShield, emphasized that this collaboration enhances both companies’ capacities to meet the dynamic air defense and counter-UAS needs. He stated, “The demands for counter-UAS operations lean toward integrated, multi-sensor solutions that can be deployed swiftly and scaled across various operational contexts. Joining forces with Terma enables DroneShield to merge our robust counter-UAS capabilities and command-and-control systems with Terma’s advanced air defense technologies, presenting a strong proposition for clients looking to improve layered defense outcomes.”

Steen Trier, Vice President of Global Sales at Terma, expressed that the MOU is designed to assist clients in bolstering their counter-UAS capabilities within established frameworks. He mentioned, “Terma collaborates closely with defense customers working in complex environments. This partnership with DroneShield allows us to enhance existing capabilities with supplementary counter-UxS solutions, accommodating evolving operational needs.”

As defense and security stakeholders across Europe and the Middle East increasingly focus on enhancing their counter-UAS capabilities, this MOU offers DroneShield and Terma a strategic avenue to explore new opportunities while delivering coordinated, effective solutions that meet modern operational demands.
