ASELSAN Launches Revolutionary Autonomous Naval Technologies at SAHA 2026

ASELSAN Unveils Next-Generation Autonomous Naval Systems at SAHA 2026

In a significant showcase at the SAHA 2026 International Defense and Aerospace Exhibition, the Turkish defense powerhouse ASELSAN introduced cutting-edge autonomous naval strike systems, emphasizing advancements in maritime warfare technology.

The introduction features two pioneering systems that align with Türkiye’s “Blue Homeland” doctrine: the KILIÇ autonomous kamikaze underwater vehicle and the TUFAN kamikaze unmanned surface vessel.

KILIÇ: Advanced Autonomous Underwater Strike System

The KILIÇ system is a state-of-the-art, unmanned underwater vehicle designed for the detection and neutralization of maritime threats. It boasts an ultra-lightweight and hydrodynamic design, ensuring minimal visibility.

Designed for asymmetric naval operations, KILIÇ delivers superior precision in strikes, supports swarm tactics, utilizes cable-guided control, and maintains low detectability, making it adept for challenging maritime scenarios.

The KILIÇ family offers various models, including the cost-effective KILIÇ 10 and the extended-range KILIÇ 200, which features a larger payload capacity. The KILIÇ 200 can launch from unmanned surface vessels, and integrates precision weaponry with advanced thermal and infrared imaging systems to boost operational range and targeting accuracy.

TUFAN: Next-Gen Kamikaze Unmanned Surface Vessel

ASELSAN also introduced the TUFAN, a groundbreaking kamikaze unmanned surface vessel engineered to carry high-explosive payloads. It excels in both independent and coordinated swarm operations.

TUFAN is versatile, tailored for missions involving surface vessel targeting and the disruption of critical coastal infrastructure. Whether deployed solo or in a collective strategy, it is equipped for reconnaissance, surveillance, and intelligence operations.

With its advanced autonomy, TUFAN can navigate obstacles—both moving and stationary—without requiring human input. It is fitted with image-based target detection technology, which ensures precise strikes in dynamic environments.

Thanks to its remarkable speed, agility, and situational awareness, TUFAN advances naval capabilities, serving as a crucial asset in asymmetric warfare arenas.

ASELSAN’s Vision for Future Maritime Warfare

ASELSAN emphasized that the introduction of the KILIÇ and TUFAN systems reflects its commitment to developing indigenous and autonomous solutions that address emerging maritime threats. This effort signifies a notable shift towards unmanned and networked systems, enhancing flexibility and effectiveness in contemporary naval warfare.
