L3Harris Demonstrates Autonomous Electronic Warfare Capability During US Army Experiment

MELBOURNE, Fla., April 14, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has successfully demonstrated a cutting-edge autonomous electronic warfare (EW) capability in a recent U.S. Army exercise, highlighting its capacity to detect, locate, and neutralize threats in real-time.

This demonstration showcased the compact, software-defined Deceptor™ EW payload across multiple unmanned aerial systems. Operating within the Distributed Spectrum Collaboration and Operations (DiSCO™) framework, the Deceptor system facilitated AI-supported sensing and effects coordination across the battlespace. It effectively detected and geolocated radio frequency (RF) threats, integrated data from various sensors in real-time, and performed RF jamming to neutralize these threats.

Lauren Barnes, President of Spectrum Superiority, Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris, stated, “Electronic warfare is uniquely suited for autonomy, where speed and scale in the RF spectrum are decisive. Our work is focused on delivering autonomous EW capabilities that reduce operator burden while increasing operational advantage.”

The Deceptor system utilizes commercial off-the-shelf hardware, allowing for rapid integration across unmanned air, ground, and maritime platforms through a modular, open-system architecture. Its small form factor meets the stringent size, weight, power, and cost requirements of modern distributed systems, enabling extensive deployment across thousands of unmanned platforms to deliver distributed EW effects.

L3Harris is continuing to build on over a decade of investment in compact EW technologies. Future demonstrations are planned to further integrate Deceptor with other EW solutions, aiming to provide synchronized effects across multiple domains and platforms.
