EDEX 2023: Nexter Unveils Innovative Weaponry for the Egyptian Armed Forces

  • From December 4 to 7, 2023, Nexter showcases its offerings at the EDEX 2023 exhibition in Cairo,
  • Egypt. Nexter, a subsidiary of KNDS, is expanding its collaboration with Egypt concerning the modernization of the armored forces of the Egyptian military.

Strengthening the armored capabilities of the Egyptian armed forces

Nexter, a division of KNDS, unveils its extensive collection of armored vehicles to the Armored Brigades of the Egyptian Military:

  • The Enhanced Main Battle Tank (EMBT), a pioneering 4th generation MBT that integrates a newly refined design, featuring a 22 rounds 120mm autoloader, a 7 roadwheel chassis, and a powerful 1500 hp propulsion system. This latest prototype is equipped with the 120mm cannon and autoloader from the Leclerc MBT along with cutting-edge technologies such as a modern digital architecture, an ARX 30, an additional crew member as “deputy commander,” and a hard-kill active protection system (APS)…
  • Our newest combat platforms include the next-generation VBCI MkII T40, the JAGUAR combat and reconnaissance vehicle, and the terrestrial version of the RAPIDFire turret mounted on a 6×6 platform.
  • The ARX 30 remote-operated turret fitted with the 30mm cannon from the Tiger helicopter. It is designed for close protection of a vehicle platform, a convoy, or a company-level unit. Development is underway for airburst munitions to engage drones and loitering munition threats.
  • The ARX 25 remote-controlled turret armed with the 25mm cannon used by the French army’s VBCI. It is ideally suited for ground engagements with a range surpassing 2500m and firepower equivalent to 30x173mm munitions.
