Euronaval 2026: Elbit Systems to Present UUV Capabilities for the First Time | Elbit Systems

Elbit Systems Ltd. is set to unveil its Unmanned Underwater Vehicle (UUV) capabilities for the first time at Euronaval 2026, marking a significant enhancement of the company’s autonomous maritime offerings in the underwater domain.

This addition to Elbit Systems’ portfolio follows the acquisition of International Submarine Engineering Ltd. (ISE), known for its autonomous underwater systems, having delivered over 250 underwater vehicles to clients in more than 20 countries. The UUV capabilities will be showcased alongside the company’s Seagull™ family of Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs) and an array of other maritime systems from Elbit Systems’ naval offerings. This integrated architecture enhances operations between both underwater and surface autonomous systems and provides expanded opportunities for integrated manned-unmanned teaming (MUM-T) concepts.

The UUV portfolio comprises modular Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs) tailored for various missions including intelligence gathering, mine countermeasures (MCM), anti-submarine warfare (ASW), seabed mapping, and the protection of critical maritime infrastructure and strategic assets. These systems support extended autonomous operations and are equipped with various payloads such as sonars, ISR systems, and mission-specific sensors.

With over 40 years of experience in autonomous systems, Elbit Systems has successfully developed and deployed operational unmanned solutions across air, land, and maritime domains. The company has been active in the naval domain for over a decade, with established unmanned maritime systems currently in use by customers worldwide.

The move into the underwater domain bolsters Elbit Systems’ comprehensive maritime autonomy offerings, integrating UUVs, the Seagull family of USVs, mission systems, payloads, sonars, communications, and autonomous mission management capabilities into a single operational framework. This vertically integrated approach facilitates the coordination of autonomous maritime formations, crafted to meet evolving operational requirements, supporting integrated mission planning, launch and recovery, and enabling the execution of coordinated surface and underwater missions.

“Navies are increasingly seeking comprehensive autonomous solutions for complex maritime missions,” stated Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW. “The addition of UUV capabilities further enhances our autonomous maritime portfolio, empowering us to provide customers with a holistic operational solution that spans both surface and underwater autonomous systems, along with payloads and mission management capabilities.”

At Euronaval 2026, Elbit Systems will feature a variety of autonomous maritime solutions crafted to address modern naval operations and the evolving challenges of maritime security.
