Boeing receives seven-year contract to accelerate PAC-3 MSE seeker output
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Boeing has secured an undefinitized contract action valued at approximately $14.7 billion from Lockheed Martin to enhance production of PAC-3® Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) seekers.
This contract formalizes a seven-year framework aimed at tripling PAC-3 MSE seeker output, aligning with the U.S. Department of War’s Acquisition Transformation Strategy, which is focused on bolstering the nation’s Arsenal of Freedom.
PAC-3 seekers are integral components that empower the most advanced Patriot interceptors to effectively identify, track, and engage various threats, including hostile aircraft and modern missile types such as hypersonic, ballistic, and cruise missiles.
Steve Parker, president and CEO of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, stated, “Early investment and a relentless focus on quality and execution have positioned us to now deliver seekers at unprecedented levels in the near-term, and we’re committed to building on that momentum.” He underscored the importance of their role in protecting U.S. and allied service members, civilians, and critical infrastructure worldwide.
Boeing’s recent initiatives to upscale its PAC-3 seeker factory, strengthen supplier collaborations, and modernize production facilities with advanced technologies reflect a commitment to creating a more agile, resilient, and efficient supply chain.
Following the announcement of the framework agreement earlier this year, production ramp-up and hiring efforts are underway, expected to generate hundreds of direct and indirect jobs in the Huntsville, Alabama area.
The rise in production capacity directly supports the U.S. Department of War’s commitment to enhance its Arsenal of Freedom while aligning with the Acquisition Transformation Strategy to expedite delivery of essential capabilities to military personnel.
Boeing stands as a leading global aerospace firm and a primary U.S. exporter, engaged in the development, manufacturing, and servicing of commercial and defense aircraft, as well as space systems, for a diverse clientele spanning over 150 countries. The company promotes a culture founded on core values of safety, quality, and integrity.
