GDIT Awarded $285 Million Virginia Cybersecurity Services Contract
General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), a division of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded a significant contract valued at $285 million by the Commonwealth of Virginia, aimed at bolstering the state’s cybersecurity infrastructure.
Granted in October, this contract features a one-year transition phase, followed by a five-year base period, which may further extend through three one-year option periods.
Under this contract, GDIT is set to apply its advanced Eclipse Defensive Cyber and Everest Zero Trust Digital Accelerators to provide extensive cybersecurity services. These services include vulnerability management, zero trust services, and the establishment of a round-the-clock security operations center for the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (VITA). VITA is responsible for IT services across 67 state agencies, supporting more than 8.8 million residents in Virginia.
To enhance the security of the state’s digital landscape, GDIT will incorporate artificial intelligence to automate security monitoring, integrate sophisticated cybersecurity tools, and improve threat detection capabilities.
