L3Harris to Boost Polish Navy Combat Power with Advanced Ship System
BRISTOL, England, May 6, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been contracted to enhance the operational capabilities of the Polish Navy through the provision of an advanced ship management system intended for the new Miecznik-class frigates. This selection by PGZ Stocznia Wojenna, Poland’s state-owned shipyard, involves the implementation of L3Harris’ Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS), which aims to improve ship performance, reliability, and safety.
According to Nino DiCosmo, President of Maritime, Space & Mission Systems at L3Harris, “Miecznik-class frigates, empowered by L3Harris’ IPMS, symbolize the next generation of maritime defence, offering Poland enhanced combat power and a strategic advantage in regional waters. Our advanced solution not only reinforces Poland’s defence industrial capabilities but also allows the fleet to extend its operational range and endurance.”
L3Harris’ IPMS has been developed with input and capabilities derived from extensive collaborations with international partners, including the U.K. Royal Navy, Royal Netherlands Navy, Royal Australian Navy, and Royal Canadian Navy. The company has continuously improved the IPMS technology and has successfully delivered it to nearly 300 vessels across 28 navies worldwide.
The Miecznik frigates, designed based on the Arrowhead 140 concept by Babcock International, are set to modernize the Polish Navy and bolster its operational capabilities. With L3Harris’ IPMS, these next-generation warships will benefit from enhanced situational awareness, operational efficiency, and safety.
