Hungary is set to enhance its aerial defense capabilities with the final deliveries of its Gripen fighters, bringing the total to 18 Gripen C/D aircraft—16 Gripen C and 2 Gripen D. This expansion is aimed at safeguarding Hungarian and NATO airspace.
Lars Tossman, Senior Vice President and head of Saab’s business area Aeronautics, expressed pride in the Hungarian Air Force’s 20-year operational history with Gripen fighters. He stated, “Thanks to the support and service contract, the Hungarian Gripen fleet will maintain high availability and be continuously upgraded to fulfill all mission requirements for at least a decade ahead.”
