Saab receives order for anti-tank weapon NLAW from France
Saab has secured a notable order from France for its NLAW anti-tank weapon system, which includes both the weapon units and training solutions for indoor and outdoor scenarios. The contract also provides France with the option to purchase additional NLAW systems in the future.
Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics, remarked, “NLAW will bring a new level of anti-tank capability that changes the dynamic on the battlefield for the French Army. NLAW provides unmatched effectiveness by giving the individual soldier the ability to stop even the most heavily armoured threat in a few seconds. With a history of delivering both our AT4 and Carl-Gustaf M4 to the French Armed Forces, we look forward to bringing the capabilities of NLAW as well.”
The NLAW (Next-generation Light Anti-tank Weapon) is a combat-proven system utilized by several nations, such as Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Finland. Renowned for its exceptional anti-tank capabilities, NLAW employs advanced technology that does not require complicated setup. Its intelligent guidance system allows a single soldier to engage and neutralize modern main battle tanks from various positions, including indoors, around corners, or behind cover.
