Mobile Mission Communications, Simplified: The L3Harris MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom
As military operations evolve in their scope and reach, the demand for robust communication systems becomes increasingly critical. The L3Harris® Technologies MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom is engineered to meet these challenges, offering an integrated and decentralized architecture that ensures mission continuity under even the most demanding conditions.
“The MC-3000I is a new, innovative approach to interconnected vehicular communications,” noted Josh Bates, Senior Manager, Product Management at L3Harris. “This Mobile Command Intercom employs a fully networked, decentralized system that eliminates single points of failure. Such a design not only reduces vulnerabilities but also minimizes the cost, size, weight, and power requirements, making it perfect for smaller vehicles.”
Clarity and Quick Decision-Making

The MC-3000I ensures clear and intelligible voice communication even in the noisy confines of vehicles, where clarity is vital for mission execution and timely decision-making. The intercom seamlessly integrates with L3Harris tactical radios across the Falcon® II, III, and IV product lines, and offers support for other tactical radio systems, thereby enhancing interoperability with both existing and future networked communications setups. This feature significantly improves the ability of teams to remain connected and coordinated during dispersed missions.
To accommodate various operational requirements, operators can select from two distinct crew-station options. The keypad-display station allows for advanced call management and radio control, whereas the rotary-dial station offers rapid and straightforward operation during high-tempo missions.
Both crew stations are designed for intuitive operation, which helps to minimize training time and keeps teams focused on their objectives. Additionally, night-vision-compatible interfaces and a blackout mode cater to low-signature operations.
Simplified Deployment and Configuration
The MC-3000I comes with a Configuration Programming Application (CPA) that enables users to configure both intercom and radio systems via a single interface. This capability reduces complexity, accelerates fleet deployment, and assists in effective lifecycle management of communication assets. Furthermore, remote-control functionalities heighten operational security while ensuring consistent network performance across distributed forces.

“The MC-3000I’s modular design allows organizations to consistently implement communication capabilities across various vehicle types and mission profiles,” Bates added. “From smaller tactical vehicles to larger command formations, the system provides uniform performance without imposing an unnecessary burden on size, weight, and power.”
Meeting rigorous military environmental and operational standards, the MC-3000I is tested for land, maritime, and mobile tactical applications. Supported by L3Harris’ global integration and maintenance expertise, this solution aims to future-proof program investments dedicated to long-term communication modernization.
The MC-3000I Mobile Command Intercom is now available for order, with full-rate production and shipments anticipated to commence in the third quarter of this year.
