Contract for the digitalisation of British Army combat training
Rheinmetall Electronics UK has been selected as a key member of Omnia Training, the consortium tasked with delivering the Army Collective Training System (ACTS) under the British Army’s Collective Training Transformation Programme (CTTP). This initiative is led by Raytheon UK, the prime contractor, which has assembled a group of top industry partners to revolutionize the collective training capabilities of the British Army. Notably, Raytheon is an RTX business.
As the Land Collective Training Partner, Rheinmetall is responsible for the design and implementation of critical elements within the programme. Rheinmetall’s portion of the contract is valued at just under €1 billion, and operational implementation is slated to commence in summer 2026. The service contract is set for a duration of 15 years.
The extensive scope and significant project volume will allow Rheinmetall to sustainably enhance its local sites, workforce, and industrial supply capabilities within the United Kingdom. Over the lifespan of the contract, this initiative is expected to secure and generate numerous skilled job opportunities. This includes not only the Rheinmetall Electronics UK headquarters on the Isle of Wight and the Southampton site but also extends to key strategic locations such as Bristol and Warminster.
Omnia Training and its consortium partners will be responsible for the integration and delivery of advanced live, virtual, and constructive simulation systems. As the Land Collective Training Partner, Rheinmetall will also manage the physical training infrastructure, system configurations, and logistical aspects necessary for Army Collective Training.
The UK remains one of Rheinmetall’s vital strategic markets in Europe, bolstered by a robust presence through its subsidiaries and joint ventures. In addition to Rheinmetall Electronics UK, Rheinmetall BAE Systems Land plays a pivotal role in the British Army’s platform modernization efforts. This strong local presence not only provides seamless support to the armed forces but also enhances local value creation.
