Elistair Unveils Khronos Dronebox at the Groundbreaking ORION 2026 Event
Elistair, a pioneer in tethered drone technology for security applications, proudly announces its participation in ORION 2026, France’s most significant joint military exercise in recent decades, featuring its advanced Khronos automated tethered DroneBox.
Scheduled from February to April 2026, ORION 2026 mobilizes approximately 12,500 military personnel nationwide within a high-stakes, multi-domain framework that spans land, sea, air, space, cyber, and electromagnetic aspects. Throughout the exercise, over 1,200 various types of drones are actively deployed.
Elistair is set to contribute during Phase O4 (April 7–30), following an initial involvement in Phase O2 in February. This participation underscores France’s commitment to seamlessly integrate within a NATO command structure for collective defense initiatives. In the final week of April, military units will execute offensive operations, river crossings, seizing strategic positions, and engage in live-fire training.
In this rigorous setting, Elistair’s Khronos delivers a critical advantage: offering persistent and continuous aerial surveillance from both fixed and mobile platforms. Unlike traditional drones, it operates independently of GNSS, radio frequency support, or the limitations of battery-powered flying devices. This capability is vital for addressing one of the key challenges in contemporary high-intensity conflicts—maintaining real-time situational awareness in contested and GNSS-denied environments.
