L3Harris Technologies and Skydagger Technologies have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at enhancing collaboration in the realm of advanced Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UxS) technology.
The agreement outlines a partnership focused on developing new capabilities for L3Harris’ VAMPIRE™ C-UxS system, particularly in the area of drone-on-drone interception. This advanced capability will be produced in the United States to support allied operations. The MOU positions L3Harris to benefit from a strong partnership that will facilitate accelerated delivery timelines, bolster industrial resilience, and improve mission adaptability in contested environments.
“This MOU brings together Skydagger’s new and affordable C-UxS drone technology with L3Harris’ proven capabilities in drone detection and defeat,” stated Tom Kirkland, President of Targeting & Sensor Systems, Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris. “The VAMPIRE system’s modularity allows it to integrate with new kinetic and non-kinetic effectors and adapt to the rapidly evolving C-UxS mission.”
The partnership between VAMPIRE and Skydagger aims to create flexible and cost-effective methods for addressing global drone threats. This MOU is intended to foster collaboration on new drone integration that will benefit both companies’ client bases.
“L3Harris’ combat-proven system is the perfect conduit to showcase our C-UxS drone innovation,” remarked Mehmet Oztekin, General Manager of Skydagger Technologies. “L3Harris’ manufacturing and integration expertise will help us deliver new drone interceptor technology to meet growing operational needs worldwide.”
In 2026, L3Harris began high-volume production of the VAMPIRE system in Huntsville, Alabama, in direct response to the need of the United States and its allies to counter the persistent threat posed by drones.
