Belgium to order NASAMS air defence

During the NATO summit in Ankara, Belgium formalized a cooperation agreement with the Netherlands aimed at enhancing air defense capabilities through the acquisition of 10 NASAMS systems.

Belgium’s Defence Minister Theo Francken remarked, “After twenty years without one, Belgium will rebuild its own powerful air defense capability with this joint purchase. This step is essential for the protection of our population and critical infrastructure.”

Although contract negotiations are still ongoing, KONGSBERG has stated that no further announcements will be made until a definitive contract is signed, which is anticipated to occur later in 2026.
