L3Harris Opens Regional Engineering Support Office in the Netherlands

L3Harris Technologies has officially inaugurated a new regional engineering support office located in the Netherlands. This facility is set to address the engineering resource needs of the Netherlands and its allied neighbors, while also acting as a central hub in Europe for technical customer demonstrations.

As a prominent global defense technology firm, L3Harris has acknowledged the necessity for a stronger presence in mainland Europe to provide real-time support for its expanding customer base across the continent. The choice of the Netherlands as the site for this regional support office comes after the Netherlands Ministry of Defence designated L3Harris as the sole-source supplier for the FOXTROT program’s Military Transition Building Block, and following the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with the country’s Materiel and IT Command, highlighted Anthony Rodriguez, Principal, Program Management at L3Harris.

“L3Harris will deliver best-in-class solutions to the Dutch armed forces, and the engineering office in the Netherlands will provide the MoD with increased technical support, faster response times, and in-country support that has historically only been available in the United States,” Rodriguez noted. “We are committed to offering the Ministry solutions through collaboration with the local industry. As the Dutch defense sector rapidly evolves, L3Harris recognizes numerous opportunities to partner with local companies to deliver solutions not only for the Dutch MoD but on a global scale.”

Rodriguez also mentioned that the location in Amersfoort was carefully chosen to balance the space requirements and growth potential for the new engineering hub, while ensuring easy access for key customers. Its proximity to Bernhardkazerne is particularly important given the critical needs of the FOXTROT program. L3Harris is dedicated to fostering partnerships with government, industry, and academia within the Netherlands and across Europe. The company has already executed multiple letters of intent to collaborate with Dutch defense firms and is poised to enhance its regional partnerships surrounding the new office.

“L3Harris has a long history of supporting the Netherlands MoD, dating back over 30 years, and including our recent involvement in the FOXTROT program,” said Sandy Olejniczak, Senior Director of Business Development at L3Harris. “We will continue to deliver cutting-edge defense technologies, including our Falcon® tactical radio products. Our dedication to the FOXTROT program remains unwavering as we scale our support to keep pace with its evolution.”

L3Harris commenced delivering the first tactical radios as part of the FOXTROT program in 2025, and the company will continue to provide hardware and technical support for the MoD throughout the program’s lifespan. Additionally, plans are underway to hire Dutch citizens to bolster its in-country presence and regional support, Rodriguez added.
