Five L3Harris Systems Achieve Jailbroken Status at US Army Events

MELBOURNE, Fla., Oct. 8, 2026 — Multiple systems from L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) have received “Jailbroken” status during U.S. Army Operation Jailbreak events held this year, marking a significant advancement in autonomous threat-sensing capabilities.

The U.S. Army’s experiments evaluated whether technologies featured standards-based application programming interfaces for open-system integration into future networks. Among those that achieved jailbroken status are the L3Harris Falcon® IV family of radios, Wraith® waveform, Wraith Shield™ software, WESCAM® MX®-Series electro-optical/infrared sensors, and VAMPIRE® counter-unmanned systems. The interoperability validation of this technology across any data layer is suited for Army, joint, and coalition warfighting frameworks.

Chris Aebli, President of Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris, stated, “Military operations are increasingly data-driven, and assured communications across the battlespace to share that data are essential for strategic and tactical decision advantage. We are focused on supporting the Army’s Right to Integrate initiative with open, adaptable, and scalable systems to accelerate interoperability across multiple battlefield systems.”

The three-week exercise also showcased collaboration between L3Harris and three industry partners, where communication systems were integrated with WESCAM MX-Series sensors and the VAMPIRE system via the Wraith waveform. This integration demonstrated an interoperable, deployable robotic system that enhances early intelligence and warning, providing improved decision advantage for combatant commanders.
