Hanwha Solutions showcases cable materials at Wire China 2026 | Hanwha
Hanwha Solutions Wire & Cable Division actively participated in ‘Wire China 2026,’ an international wire and cable exhibition that took place in Shanghai, China, from September 21 to 24. At this event, the company presented cutting-edge technologies, including extra-high-voltage cable materials and sustainable circular solutions.
In a move to bolster its operations in China’s extra-high-voltage transmission and offshore wind sectors, Hanwha Solutions signed memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with two prominent Chinese cable firms, ZTT (Zhongtian Technology Submarine Cable) and Hengtong, aimed at the joint development of cable materials.
This year’s Wire China brought together a diverse array of global cable manufacturers, along with suppliers of materials and equipment, to spotlight the newest innovations in the wire and cable industry. The exhibition also served as a fruitful platform for exploring potential business partnerships.
Under the motto “Best Quality, Better Planet,” Hanwha Solutions showcased its commitment to high-performance cable materials and sustainable solutions. The company implemented an innovative booth design featuring user-experience-oriented digital tools and customer consultation features, enhancing interactions with global clientele while facilitating technical consultations and partnership discussions.
A highlight of Hanwha Solutions’ exhibition was a cable model utilizing next-generation SEHV (Super Extra-High Voltage, 500kV-class) cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) and semiconductive materials, showcasing the reliability of its insulation in extra-high-voltage power transmission environments.
Furthermore, the company unveiled its “Closed Loop” solution for circular XLPE, leveraging proprietary decrosslinking technology. This initiative demonstrated the potential of a circular economy, with a cable model that incorporates recycled XLPE and semiconductive materials, showcasing the feasibilities of repurposing waste cable materials into new cable products.
