Saab receives order for RBS 70 NG from Finland

The Finnish Defence Forces have solidified their commitment to advanced air defense systems with the latest contract awarded to Saab for the state-of-the-art RBS 70 NG. This agreement not only secures the current order but also enables the continuation of additional future orders, which may include training, spare parts, and maintenance equipment.

Görgen Johansson, head of Saab’s business area Dynamics, expressed pride in the ongoing partnership, stating, “We are proud to continue supporting Finland’s Defence Forces and contributing to keeping the nation’s skies safe. With RBS 70 NG, Finland will receive a state-of-the-art short-range air defence capability to effectively meet evolving aerial threats.”

The Finnish Defence Forces have utilized the previous version of the RBS 70 since 2008, and the new RBS 70 NG enhances this legacy with features such as an unjammable laser-guided missile, an automatic target tracker, and built-in night capability. These innovations significantly improve hit probability and operational effectiveness.
