US Space Force Declares Meadowlands System Operationally Accepted

The U.S. Space Force has officially declared the L3Harris Technologies Meadowlands System operationally accepted, a significant milestone in enhancing space electromagnetic warfare capabilities. This declaration marks the transition of the Meadowlands from development to full mission-ready status, empowering warfighters with cutting-edge technology designed to detect, identify, and disrupt adversarial satellite communications in contested environments.

The Meadowlands System signifies a transformative advancement in tactical electromagnetic warfare. As adversaries increasingly depend on satellite communications to coordinate military operations, the capacity to negate that capability offers a substantial strategic edge. This lightweight, transportable system allows a single operator to remotely manage a greater number of simultaneous jamming missions than previous systems, facilitating rapid responses to emerging threats while circumventing adversarial countermeasures. Moreover, its open architecture enables swift updates to keep pace with evolving adversary tactics in a continually contested space environment.

“We have exceptionally trained and skilled electromagnetic warfare professionals who are highly motivated and excited about integrating this new Meadowlands capability. This upgraded system enables us to more effectively and efficiently support the joint scheme of maneuver across the continuum of conflict,” emphasized U.S. Space Force Lt. Col. Ryan Skilling, commander of the 4th Electromagnetic Warfare Squadron.

The operational acceptance of Meadowlands is the result of meticulous collaboration between L3Harris, Combat Forces Command, and Space Systems Command, culminating in a capability that fundamentally alters the conduct of electromagnetic warfare.

“With Meadowlands now operationally accepted, we’re not just responding to today’s threats; we’re defining the future of space electromagnetic warfare,” stated Jeff Hanke, President of Space Systems at L3Harris Technologies. “This system’s adaptability, scalability, and remote operational capabilities provide the kind of asymmetric advantage that our nation requires. Now, our warfighters possess a proven, mission-ready tool to disrupt adversary operations while safeguarding our own.”

The operational acceptance of the Meadowlands System further solidifies L3Harris’ role as a trusted partner in achieving space superiority and underscores the commitment to ensuring warfighters maintain a decisive advantage in any domain, at any time.
