L3Harris Plans Arkansas Facility Expansion for PAC-3 Propulsion Production

CAMDEN, Ark., June 24, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has initiated the construction of two new facilities aimed at enhancing the production capacity for the U.S. Army’s PAC-3® propulsion systems. This expansion is expected to further bolster the Department of War’s Arsenal of Freedom, ensuring the nation can effectively respond to growing demands.

The new buildings will be situated on the Arkansas Advanced Propulsion Facilities (AAPF) campus in Camden.

“We’re self‑funding these new facilities in Arkansas to move at the speed this mission requires,” said Christopher Kubasik, Chairman and CEO of L3Harris. “This expansion boosts our ability to deliver PAC‑3 propulsion faster and in greater quantities, while strengthening military readiness and providing proven capability our warfighters depend on.”

L3Harris is responsible for producing the PAC-3 MSE interceptor’s advanced two-pulse solid rocket motor, Attitude Control Motors, and the Lethality Enhancer. The two new PAC-3 propulsion facilities will encompass approximately 75,000 square feet for casting, curing, and final assembly, along with an additional 70,000 square feet for case preparation. These advanced manufacturing facilities will feature innovative capabilities including automated X-ray inspection systems that utilize AI for rapid defect detection, fully automated casting, and expanded curing capacity to improve production efficiency.

The broader AAPF campus, where the groundbreaking occurred last year, is part of an ongoing project to establish modern solid rocket motor production capabilities at strategic locations nationwide. The AAPF will focus on the production of medium and large solid rocket motors that support various tactical and air defense missiles, missile defense targets, interceptors, hypersonic vehicles, and emerging missile defense requirements.

L3Harris is undertaking the construction of approximately 60 facilities and is expanding its manufacturing footprint by nearly 1 million square feet across its production sites in Alabama, Arkansas, and Virginia.
