Thales and Visa Collaborate to boost Digital Payment solutions across Asia Pacific

Thales has officially joined the Visa Digitalization Ready Program (VDRP), marking a pivotal step in accelerating the adoption of Visa’s innovative digital payment solutions among financial institutions throughout the Asia Pacific region.

As the inaugural technology partner to enroll in the VDRP within Asia Pacific, Thales strengthens its leadership role in digital payments and aligns with Visa’s objective to expedite the rollout of Click to Pay across the region.

Utilizing Thales’ D1, a comprehensive modern card issuing platform, financial issuers in Asia Pacific will be empowered to seamlessly implement Click to Pay along with advanced digital services, including Payment Passkeys. This integration will enable a faster, more secure, and frictionless payment experience for consumers.

As Asia Pacific financial institutions accelerate their digital transformation, they are confronted with rising expectations to deliver seamless payment experiences that maintain resilience against evolving cybersecurity threats. Through the VDRP, Thales pledges to support issuers in deploying next-generation digital payment services that merge reliable security, simplified integration, and quicker time to market.

The partnership will initially target Click to Pay and Payment Passkeys, leveraging Thales’ state-of-the-art D1 platform. This collaboration simplifies the integration of Visa’s digital services, allowing issuers to diminish implementation intricacies, hasten deployment, and provide secure, user-friendly payment experiences at a large scale.

The alliance showcases the mutual commitment of Visa and Thales to aid issuers throughout their digital evolution. Together, both companies aim to enhance the adoption of reliable digital payment services that merge increased consumer convenience with robust security and authentication mechanisms, addressing the rapidly changing expectations of users.

Thales, recognized for its global expertise in digital issuance and tokenization, equips issuers with the capability to swiftly activate Visa’s digital payment features, all while ensuring optimal security, scalability, and performance. This capability allows financial institutions to provide quicker, more streamlined checkout experiences without sacrificing trust.

“As digital payments continue to evolve, issuers need a trusted technology partner that can combine innovation, security, and speed to market. With decades of expertise across both physical and digital payment technologies, Thales is uniquely positioned to help financial institutions accelerate their digital transformation.
