Thales supports the next generation of Marine Corps combat vehicle vision with Minerva Cameras
Thales Defense & Security, Inc. (TDSI), a subsidiary of Thales, has secured an order for over 400 SharpView Dual Camera – Minerva imagers intended for U.S. Marine Corps combat vehicles. This award is part of the ongoing modernization of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle Personnel (ACV-P) and Command (ACV-C) variants, enhancing legacy camera systems with state-of-the-art dual-band imaging technology.
The Minerva system merges thermal and visible imaging capabilities within a single compact sensor, enabling Marine Corps crews to maintain high-quality images and situational awareness in conditions where standard cameras may falter, such as in low light, dust, smoke, and severe weather.

Its rugged, military-grade design allows for consistent operation in often extreme environments while providing clear, real-time imaging that enables crews to maintain awareness and respond effectively in rapidly changing situations.
The selection of Minerva for Marine Corps combat vehicles underscores a growing demand for technologies that enhance battlefield awareness and improve the survivability of deployed forces. Additionally, Minerva is under evaluation as part of the U.S. Army’s XM30 program, which aims to modernize next-generation combat vehicles with improved crew protection and situational awareness.
