LONDON, July 20, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At the Farnborough International Airshow, Pratt & Whitney, a part of RTX (NYSE: RTX), announced that Jackson Square Aviation (JSA), a prominent player in aviation leasing, has chosen the GTF engine to power an undisclosed number of Airbus A320neo family aircraft.
Rick Deurloo, president of Commercial Engines at Pratt & Whitney, noted, “This order underscores continued confidence in the GTF engine as we continue to build on our long-standing relationship with JSA to support the growing fleet of A320neo operators worldwide.”
Kevin McDonald, CEO of Jackson Square Aviation, emphasized, “GTF engines have been instrumental to our growth strategy for fleet and customer base expansion. The unmatched fuel efficiency and noise reduction are a game changer for A320neo operators.”
Currently, JSA holds a portfolio comprising 91 GTF-powered A320neo family aircraft and 11 V2500-powered A320ceos.
The GTF engine offers a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and a 75% smaller noise footprint compared to its predecessor. Globally, over 2,800 GTF-powered aircraft are operated by more than 90 customers, and the order backlog for over 8,000 GTF engines indicates robust market demand for its proven advantages. The engine’s pioneering geared architecture sets a solid foundation for next-generation technologies.
