RTX’s Pratt & Whitney Canada signs PW127M maintenance agreement with Emerald Airlines

Comprehensive engine support will strengthen Emerald Airlines’ regional operations through 2030

LONDON, July 21, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — At the Farnborough International Airshow, Pratt & Whitney Canada, a subsidiary of RTX (NYSE: RTX), announced the signing of a nearly five-year contract with Emerald Airlines. This agreement will provide comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for the PW127M engines used in ATR 72-600 regional turboprop aircraft.

Anthony Rossi, Vice President of Pratt & Whitney Canada, stated, “We worked with Emerald Airlines to develop a customized and inclusive solution that will optimize their future engine maintenance costs, deliver dependable performance, and ensure dispatch availability. This agreement reflects our broader commitment to invest in and expand our MRO capabilities as we continue to grow alongside our customers.”

The primary maintenance work to support Emerald Airlines is set to be conducted at Pratt & Whitney Canada’s facility in Singapore, which specializes in MRO front-line services for turboprop engines. Additional support will be provided from the business’s Montreal location.

Richard Spencer, Chief Operating Officer of Emerald Airlines, expressed satisfaction with the extended partnership, noting, “We’re pleased to extend our partnership with Pratt & Whitney Canada through 2030, giving us long-term certainty across our fleet. This comprehensive MRO program delivers peace of mind, with predictable costs and the ability to plan our operations with confidence, while also aligning with the needs of our aircraft lessors.”

The PW100 engine family offers significant efficiency benefits for routes of 350 miles or less, achieving fuel savings of 25% to 40% and corresponding reductions in CO2 emissions compared to similar-sized regional jets. Furthermore, these engines are compatible with biofuels and certified to operate with up to a 50% blend of synthetic aviation fuel.
