Modular and scalable test facility drives innovation for electric thrust reverser actuation systems

This facility is focused on advancing next-generation electric thrust reverser actuation systems (elecTRAS™). It features a modern, modular, and scalable test environment intended to foster innovation in aircraft actuation system design, testing, and certification.
The elecTRAS system presents a more streamlined solution by eliminating hydraulic interfaces and fluids, achieving a weight reduction of 15-20% for nacelle actuation at the integrated aircraft system level. The advanced testing capabilities in Wolverhampton effectively simulate real-world conditions for various aircraft components, actuators, subsystems, and complete systems. By incorporating early-stage test results into system analysis, the facility can quickly address potential issues, reducing project delays and promoting distinctive design scalability for future applications.
