L3Harris Receives THAAD Propulsion Contract Valued at $6 Billion
MELBOURNE, Fla., Sept. 29, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has been awarded an undefinitized contract from Lockheed Martin, with a value exceeding $6 billion (excluding escalations) over a span of seven years. This contract aims to significantly boost propulsion production for the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system.
This pivotal development comes on the heels of a framework agreement announced earlier this year between L3Harris and the Department of War, which intends to quadruple the production of THAAD propulsion. This contract, alongside the recent award for PAC-3 MSE propulsion, aligns with the company’s previously projected outcomes for both programs.

The company plans to build a new facility dedicated to enhancing the manufacturing capacity of THAAD Solid Rocket Boost Motors and will also expand its production capabilities for THAAD’s Liquid Divert and Attitude Control systems.
