KONGSBERG signs contract with Oshkosh Defense Europe to deliver counter-drone capabilities to the Netherlands
KONGSBERG has entered into a contract with Oshkosh Defense Europe to deliver counter-drone capabilities for integration with Oshkosh Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs) to the Royal Netherlands Armed Forces.
This delivery is set to significantly enhance the Netherlands’ capabilities in detecting, tracking, and defeating threats posed by unmanned aerial systems. The PROTECTOR CUAS, a highly advanced and scalable solution, aims to meet the increasing demand for effective counter-drone measures on contemporary battlefields.
Kjetil Reiten Myhra, Executive Vice President of KONGSBERG and President of the Defence Systems division, emphasized the crucial role of adaptable Counter-UAS solutions, stating, “The increasing use of drones in modern conflicts highlights the importance of robust and adaptable Counter-UAS solutions. This delivery will provide Dutch forces with a proven capability designed to enhance force protection and operational effectiveness against a wide range of aerial threats.”

The PROTECTOR RS4, a combat-proven modular remote weapon station, is currently in service with 31 nations and allied forces globally. When paired with the KONGSBERG PROTECTOR CUAS, this system allows operators to effectively engage both individual drones and more complex threat scenarios.
This agreement further reinforces the longstanding partnership between KONGSBERG, Oshkosh Defense, and the Netherlands, contributing to NATO’s collective capability to address emerging and rapidly evolving security challenges.
