Hanwha unveils ‘Space AI Solution’ for first time overseas
Hanwha has introduced its advanced ‘Space AI Solution’ to international audiences for the first time, showcasing its capabilities in military and disaster response contexts. This solution enables precise tracking of enemy movements and troop routes during military operations. Additionally, in disaster scenarios, it can quickly analyze modifications to buildings and terrain, allowing for rapid assessments of damage before and after significant events.
The solution excels in analyzing imagery from two existing types of Earth observation satellites: electro-optical (EO) and synthetic aperture radar (SAR). By fusing data from both satellite types, it derives optimal insights tailored to specific situations. AI solutions that can integrate and analyze data across these two satellite modalities are recognized as being among the most sophisticated available in the global market.
Notably, Hanwha’s SAR satellites are capable of capturing clear imagery in both day and night conditions, as well as through inclement weather. However, the radar images produced can be challenging to interpret. The Satellite AI Solution overcomes this hurdle by swiftly identifying aircraft, ships, and vehicles in SAR imagery while enhancing resolution and combining this data with high-resolution EO satellite imagery. Furthermore, the solution includes a dedicated interface that connects with Hanwha’s strike systems, such as the K9 self-propelled howitzer and Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher, thereby improving the operational efficiency of its broader weapon systems.
