Saab receives order from FMV for further work on future concept
Saab has secured a contract aimed at the further development and demonstration of new technologies essential for the future fighter system.
This initiative encompasses both flying and ground-based demonstrators, advanced studies, and the development of future system concepts that include both manned and unmanned systems.
The program is designed to enhance Sweden’s national capabilities in several areas, including systems integration, autonomy, signature adaptation, propulsion, digital advancements, and future production capabilities. Moreover, it aims to build technical competence, mitigate risks, and ensure strategic flexibility for future decisions regarding Sweden’s air combat capabilities.
“We are very pleased that FMV continues to show confidence in Saab through this new contract. The work is crucial to further develop and demonstrate new technologies that will be central to future fighter systems,” stated Lars Tossman, head of Saab’s business area Aeronautics.
The latest order builds on previous contracts signed in 2024 and 2025.
