L3Harris Delivering Counter-Drone Systems to US Navy

MELBOURNE, Fla., Sept. 8, 2026 — L3Harris Technologies has secured a contract with the U.S. Navy to supply VAMPIRE™ counter-unmanned systems (C-UxS), enhancing the Navy’s capabilities within the integrated C-UxS defense architecture.

The VAMPIRE system is a comprehensive weapons solution, offering advanced reconnaissance and precision strike capabilities against drones and remotely piloted platforms across multiple domains.

“VAMPIRE is a flexible and effective system that meets the unique requirements of the U.S. Navy for littoral C-UxS defense,” stated Tony Calderon, President of Targeting & Sensor Systems, Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris. “We are engineering new capabilities to adapt to our customers’ missions and ensuring that VAMPIRE is ruggedized to withstand the challenging maritime environments.”

Additionally, L3Harris is supplying VAMPIRE systems to the U.S. Army. Earlier this year, the company also introduced its Wraith Shield™ software, which offers a radio-as-a-sensor capability designed to neutralize small drones. This software can be integrated with VAMPIRE and Drone Guardian® systems, providing a comprehensive layered defense against unmanned system threats.
