Hanwha Presents Land-to-Space Defense Solutions at FIDAE 2026

Hanwha is participating in FIDAE 2026 (Feria Internacional del Aire y del Espacio), Latin America’s largest defense exhibition, showcasing integrated defense solutions across land, sea and space. The TIGON armored vehicle, K9 self-propelled howitzer, SAR satellite, and submarines are among the key products on display as Hanwha looks to expand into the Latin American market.

Hanwha Aerospace is displaying a full-size TIGON 6X6 wheeled armored vehicle fitted with a Remote-Controlled Weapon Station (RCWS), alongside scale models of the 4X4 and 8X8 variants. The display is designed to highlight the TIGON family’s adaptability across different missions and terrain conditions.

The K9A1 self-propelled howitzer and K10 ammunition resupply vehicle are presented as a packaged artillery solution for Chile and the broader Latin American market. The Chunmoo multiple rocket launcher system also features alongside its upgraded PIP (Performance Improvement Program) launcher and multiple munition types.

Hanwha Aerospace is additionally showing the K-NIFV(Next-generation Infantry Fighting Vehicle, K-MPF(Medium Fire Support Vehicle) and the TAipers, anti-tank guided missile.

Hanwha Systems is presenting a compact SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite with 0.25-meter resolution, capable of all-weather, day-and-night observation. The satellite data is paired with Hanwha’s proprietary AI-based imagery analysis solution to support faster and more accurate tactical decisions making.

Also on display is the Smart Battleship — a naval command platform designed to operate alongside unmanned systems in real time. It incorporates stealth design, an AI-driven combat management system, and a cockpit-style Integrated Bridge System (IBS) for integrated command and control in multi-domain naval operations. Hanwha Systems is also showing its submarine Combat Management System (CMS), which applies AI across the full engagement chain from target detection to strike.

Hanwha Ocean is exhibiting the 3,000-ton class KSS-III (Changbogo-III Batch-II), the 2,000-ton class OCEAN 2000 submarine, and 4,000-ton and 5,600-ton class frigates. The OCEAN 2000 is a platform optimized for South American operational environments, while the KSS-III is a diesel-electric submarine capable of operating SLBMs. The 5,600-ton frigate incorporates the latest technologies, and the 4,000-ton frigate highlights Hanwha Ocean’s proven track record and delivery competitiveness. Through this exhibition, the company plans to pursue marketing linked to Chilean Navy programs and expand its local network in the region.

Hanwha representative said, “We aim to position ourselves as a trusted and strategic defense partner for Chile and the Latin American region by offering solutions that span land, sea, and space,” He added, “Our goal is to build a long-term partnership based on a clear understanding of Chile’s security needs.”
