Thales Launches Imperva for AWS to Help Organizations Protect Applications and APIs
Thales has announced the launch of Imperva for AWS, delivering advanced web application and API protection capabilities within the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace. This new SaaS offering is set to help organizations to defend against prevalent cyber threats and malicious bot activities, leveraging key AWS services.
Imperva for AWS provides enterprise-grade security designed specifically for AWS environments, utilizing Amazon CloudFront, AWS’s fully managed content delivery network, to streamline deployment and bolster application security. This approach reduces operational complexity by offering centralized visibility and policy management across both AWS and multi-cloud environments.
The 2026 Thales Bad Bot Report reveals that automated internet traffic constitutes 53% of all requests, with 27% of bot attacks focusing directly on APIs. As threats evolve to operate at machine speed, organizations must adopt application security solutions that can keep up without complicating their operational frameworks.
Available on a pay-as-you-go pricing model, Imperva WAF is designed to operate natively on Amazon CloudFront. This design eliminates the latency often introduced by traditional content delivery network WAFs which route traffic externally. Instead, it maintains all traffic within the AWS network, promoting efficiency.
Key benefits of Imperva WAF include:
- Robust protection for web applications, APIs, and client-side code
- Streamlined deployment via Amazon CloudFront
- Integrated visibility and management across diverse cloud environments
- Enhanced onboarding processes with minimized operational challenges
- Consistent application security capable of scaling with cloud growth
“Imperva for AWS makes it easy for customers to protect their applications and APIs with enterprise-grade security that works out of the box. By deploying natively on Amazon CloudFront’s 750+ Points of Presence, we keep all traffic within the AWS network, delivering protection at scale with zero added latency,” said Tim Chang, Vice President, Application Security, Thales.
Imperva for AWS is equipped to assist even the most stringently regulated organizations in safeguarding modern applications while maintaining low operational overhead. By merging robust protection with seamless deployment and centralized management, businesses can enhance their application security while sustaining the innovation agility necessary in cloud environments.
<pOrganizations can begin utilizing Imperva WAF immediately via AWS Marketplace.
