MELBOURNE, Fla., June 19, 2026 — In a notable step forward for the U.S. Air Force’s aircraft modernization efforts, L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) has successfully delivered the VC-25B Bridge aircraft. This delivery marks a substantial milestone in the enhancement of the Air Force One fleet.
The transformation of a 747-8i into the inaugural VC-25B took just 10 months, ensuring the continuity of the critical Presidential Airlift mission as the legacy VC-25A aircraft are phased out and the next-generation platforms remain under development. To accomplish this aggressive timeline, the dedicated team operated across three shifts, demonstrating an impressive level of commitment and discipline.
“Through a trusted, fast-tracked partnership with the Air Force, we have proven that the U.S. defense industrial base can move at maximum velocity when the mission demands it,” stated Christopher Kubasik, Chairman and CEO of L3Harris. “L3Harris rose to the challenge, and we are deeply honored to deliver to the Commander-in-Chief a symbol of American strength that meets the nation’s highest standards without compromise.”
The VC-25B serves as an airborne command post for the Office of the President, featuring a cutting-edge communications system that allows for secure, resilient connectivity to address global incidents without interruption. This expedited delivery underscores L3Harris’ proactive investment in the program, ensuring the necessary capacity, talent, and production readiness were established prior to formal demand from the customer.
Acknowledged as a global leader in aerospace integration and aircraft missionization, L3Harris provides high-performance, integrated solutions for head-of-state transport and VIP aircraft across the globe. By equipping national leaders with actionable intelligence, secure communications, and advanced protective systems, L3Harris supports missions that cannot afford failure.
