Hanwha M&S has officially launched as the holding company overseeing two key business units. This includes the Technology Solutions portfolio, which encompasses Hanwha Vision, Hanwha Semitech, Hanwha Momentum, and Hanwha Robotics, as well as the Life Solutions segment, featuring Hanwha Galleria, Hanwha Hotels & Resorts, and Ourhome.

In total, Hanwha M&S manages 57 affiliated companies, both domestic and international. According to consolidated financial results projected for the end of 2025, the company anticipates generating approximately 6 trillion won in annual revenue, underpinned by total assets amounting to 11.3 trillion won. It’s noteworthy that Hanwha Vision and Hanwha Galleria are currently listed on the Korea Exchange.

Hyung-jo Kim has been appointed as the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of Hanwha M&S. With a career at Hanwha Group starting in 1994, Hyung-jo Kim brings over three decades of experience in business strategy and operational leadership. His most recent role was CEO of Hanwha Hotels & Resorts from 2021 to 2025.

The formation of Hanwha M&S and the reorganization of its affiliated companies are aimed at enhancing competitiveness by fostering greater specialization within each business segment while generating synergies across the overall portfolio.

Under the leadership of Hanwha M&S, both tech and life solutions sectors will implement business strategies that are tailored to the unique characteristics of their industries and market environments, with an objective of boosting long-term corporate and shareholder value.

A Hanwha M&S official remarked, “The establishment of this new holding company structure is expected to unlock the full potential of our tech and life solutions businesses, facilitating increased investments and expansion opportunities. We believe these portfolios could evolve into significant growth pillars for the Hanwha Group.”

At the launch ceremony, Dong Seon Kim, President and Head of Future Strategy, reiterated the company’s commitment to innovation and future growth in alignment with the new holding company model. Having previously driven initiatives in future business development for Hanwha’s tech and life solutions arms, Dong Seon Kim will now concentrate on identifying new growth avenues and shaping long-term strategies within Hanwha M&S.

Recently promoted to the position of president for his pivotal leadership in enhancing Hanwha’s footprint in tech solutions, Dong Seon Kim’s achievements include securing major orders in the semiconductor equipment sector, particularly involving TC bonders used in the production of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), and furthering the company’s expansion into emerging markets across the globe, notably in the Middle East and India.

Hyung-jo Kim, the CEO of Hanwha M&S, stated, “By establishing a management structure focused on greater specialization, we aim to enhance our business operations and efficiency. Our commitment is to foster growth that benefits not only our business interests but also contributes to the general progress of society.”

The spin-off of Hanwha M&S received shareholder approval at Hanwha Corporation’s extraordinary meeting on July 15. The newly formed Hanwha M&S is slated to be listed on the Korea Exchange on August 25, 2026.
