Successful Live Demonstration of the Loitering System: Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems successfully demonstrated SkyStriker’s Capabilities | Elbit Systems
Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems have achieved a significant milestone in their strategic partnership. Following the cooperation agreement signed in June 2026 at the ILA Berlin, the operational capabilities of the SkyStriker system were successfully showcased during a comprehensive live demonstration in early September 2026.
The demonstration emphasized the system’s long range and endurance, featuring a successful execution of the “hand-over” function at a distance of 80 km. During the live demonstration, the SkyStriker autonomously detected, tracked, and engaged targets with exceptional precision. Launched from a canister, SkyStriker was tasked with reconnaissance, target tracking, and successfully striking a prepared target, demonstrating effective operation in conjunction with the SkyLark 1 eVTOL reconnaissance drone. This collaboration highlights the system’s integration into complex ISR UAV networks, enhancing capabilities for specialized “Seek & Strike” missions.
The SkyStriker is a state-of-the-art, electrically powered loitering munition engineered for tactical precision strikes over extended ranges. With a operational range exceeding 200 km and a loiter time surpassing two hours, it is designed to meet diverse mission requirements. The electric propulsion system contributes to its stealth, delivering an extremely low acoustic and thermal signature that complicates detection efforts.
Having already proven itself in battle, the SkyStriker system is currently operational in various nations. Its high-resolution video reconnaissance and autonomous target tracking capabilities allow for precise engagement while minimizing collateral damage. Its high operational flexibility enables launches from various platforms including ground vehicles, containers, aircraft, and notably, the EuroPULS rocket artillery system utilized by the German Armed Forces and other European nations. This versatility maximizes the ISR and attack capabilities that the SkyStriker brings to modern military operations.

The collaboration between Diehl Defence and Elbit Systems aims to satisfy the increasing demand for advanced autonomous systems within Germany, and if relevant programs are approved, to establish local production capabilities. While Elbit Systems focuses on strategic market development, Diehl Defence handles manufacturing, assembly, integration, and qualification within Germany.
